Nature Walkabout with Dick Miller, Urban Forester

April 17, 2021, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Walnut Creek Park, next to the Canal Winchester Middle School. The group will meet and depart from the north paved parking lot at the middle school.

Join Canal Winchester's Urban Forester, Dick Miller, for a Nature Walkabout! Discussion topics will include: *Our community’s association as a tree city *People and their association with nature *The wetland at the middle school *Stormwater in Central Ohio *The recovering riparian woodland and invasive species management And maybe a little birding along the way! This event will happen rain or shine. The group will depart from the north paved parking lot of the middle school. Approximate walking distance is 2 miles. All local health orders, including social distancing and facial coverings, are required. Participants are encouraged to bring bug spray/tick repellant, tennis shoes or other footwear you don't mind getting wet, a light rain coat, and binoculars if you have them.
