Canal Winchester High School administrators announce that a Senior Parade will take place in Canal Winchester on Wednesday, May 27, beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Unlike a traditional parade which allows walkers, bicycles, or golf carts, the ’Senior Parade’ will be a procession of cars only - driven by parents of 2020 graduates, with graduates as passengers, allowing them to wave to spectators and be recognized. The parade/procession was developed to take the place of the traditional ’senior walk’ practiced at the high school at the end of each academic year.  During the procession, traffic delays are expected. Spectators are permitted along the route, however, are reminded to practice safe social distancing.  The parade route and additional details are outlined below:

Cars will begin lining up at 8:30 a.m. in the Winchester Trail parking lot (6865 Gender Rd.).  At 9:30 a.m., the procession will begin exiting the parking lot.   They will travel along the following route:

  • From the Winchester Trail parking lot, cars will cross Gender Rd. onto Fox Hill Dr. - continuing to Thrush Dr.
  • Left on Thrush Dr. - continuing to Groveport Rd.
  • Right on Groveport Rd. - continuing to Washington St.
  • Left on Washington St. - continuing to Waterloo St.
  • Right on W Waterloo St. - continuing to High St.
  • Right on S High St.. - continuing to Columbus St.
  • Right on W Columbus St. - continuing to Washington St.
  • Left on Washington St. - continuing past the high school before dispersing/exiting the parade line.

Note: The High School parking lot will be closed due to the restrictions on large gatherings.
