Canal Winchester announces Community Health Action Team

We recognize the importance of public health efforts to prevent diseases, protect children, adults and families, and to promote healthy principles to improve the overall health and vitality of our community. We will soon be partnering with Franklin County Public Health to host a CHAT (Community Health Action Team), a strong team of community leaders dedicated to creating and maintaining a healthy environment where residents live, work, and play.  In addition to representatives from the city, we encourage residents to consider joining the CHAT to help lead our community health and wellness efforts.  In Canal Winchester, our CHAT will focus on overall wellness, as well as prevention and awareness of chronic conditions.

Who should consider joining the CHAT leadership team?  Community residents—Social workers— Hospital representatives— Business owners— Trustees— Community health workers— Mental health advocates— Hospital administrators— Civic association leads— Fire/EMS paramedics— Police officers— Non-profit leaders— Parks and Rec representatives— Religious leaders. A strategic planning meeting will be held on Monday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Frances Steube Community/Sr. Center (22 S. Trine St.). If you’re interested in joining the Canal Winchester CHAT, please contact Amanda Lemke, 614-834-9915.  Here’s to our health!
