The Art Guild is sponsoring its 7th annual Art Stroll on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 2 to 8 PM. The event will showcase the work of many local artists. Art lovers may stroll from site to site and enjoy musical entertainment, children’s activities, local cuisine and the ambience of our historic city. The Stroll will feature exhibits representing a wide variety of styles and forms. Artists will exhibit work throughout the Historic District. There will be displays at the Canal Winchester Area Historical Society Complex in the old train depot, Robert Warren’s Art Loft, House of Therapy, in the recently-restored Interurban Building, at Stradley Park, inside several local shops who will be hosting Guild artists, and in the Frances Steube Community Center where several Art Guild members will have exhibits.  People may also visit the actual downtown studios of some artists! The popular, annual Mural Competition will again be held in the Community Center at 22 S. Trine Street between 2 and 8 PM during the Stroll. Show your support of public art and come cast your vote! Stop by Shade on the Canal restaurant to learn about another of the Guild’s current public art initiatives, a birdhouse project developed in cooperation with local business sponsor Home Depot, the CW Local Schools, Eastland-Fairfield Technical School, and many other community members. There will be a special exhibition of work created by the students of the Canal Winchester Local School District, curated by the art faculty and hosted by Shade on the Canal restaurant. Entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon by notable acts including the String Theory Acoustic Band, Joe Steager, the Yellow Rose Cloggers, Cliff Spruill, and the Winchester Steel Company steel drum band.
