ODOT crews are closing the right lane of US 33 WB at Gender Road after a truck with its boom raised struck the bridge this morning. ODOT bridge engineers are examining the bridge and removing some concrete that came loose. Currently, they don’t believe there is new damage to the bridge. The beam that was struck was previously damaged in an incident on September 14, 2018 which resulted in closure of the right shoulder on northbound Gender Road until the beam can be repaired. Those repairs are planned as part of the current construction project on US 33, expected to take place this Spring.
