Michael Ebert was elected Mayor of Canal Winchester in November 2007 and assumed office in January 2008. Mayor Ebert is the chief executive, administrative and law enforcement officer for the Village of Canal Winchester where he is responsible for the administration of all municipal affairs.

Prior to becoming mayor, Ebert spent over 15 years as sales manager for two different food processing and equipment companies. Ebert also has 22 years experience working for Schmidts Restaurants and Meusers Winchester Farm Sausage, where he spent the majority of his time as the plant manager for their operations. Ebert served three terms as director of the Ohio Association of Meat Processors, is a past-president of the Canal Winchester Lions Club and a former T-ball and little league baseball coach.

Mayor Ebert has been a resident of Canal Winchester since 1967, when he moved to the community from the Lithopolis area with his parents, sister and youngest brother. Ebert attended elementary, middle and high school in the Canal Winchester school district, graduating from Canal Winchester High School in 1969. After high school Ebert attended both Columbus State and Ohio University Lancaster.

Mayor Ebert resides on Old Coach Place with his wife, Carolyn, who is the Family Support Manager for the Air National Guard at Rickenbacker Air Base. Together they have three grown children-Jason, Nick and Jeremy  all who graduated from Canal Winchester High School. The couple is also proud grandparents of three grandsons. In his free time Ebert enjoys golf, classic and muscle car shows and restoration, high school and Ohio State football and basketball.
