Description of Services
The Canal Winchester Division of Streets, Lands & Buildings is dedicated to providing a high quality of the basic services that our town has come to expect including safe roadways, reliable stormwater management and the continuing maintenance of grounds and facilities.
The Division of Streets, Lands and Buildings, located at the Public Works Complex on Ashbrook Rd., is responsible for over 45 centerline miles of roads, 10 bridges and 6 culverts as part of their roadway functions and over 36 miles of stormwater collection mains with 1,837 stormwater structures as part of their stormwater duties. The Division is also responsible for the maintenance of Village owned buildings and the care and maintenance of parklands, Village owned open spaces and rights-of-way.
The Division clears snow from the streets and parking areas, performs leaf-pickup duties, cleans streets, maintains all traffic lights and control devices. They also assist the Urban Forester with tree maintenance and removals and provide equipment operators to assist other divisions. In addition, they decorate the Village during the holiday seasons and coordinate cleanup activities for the annual Labor Day celebration.
