Commercial Application Filing Requirements
The following documents must be submitted to obtain plan approval and a building permit:
1)  Application for Plan Approval.
2)  Four sets of construction documents, signed and sealed, complying with Section 106 of the 2007 Ohio Building Code. The site plan referred to in Section 106.1.1 must be stamped and signed by the Planning and Zoning Administrator.

Once plans are approved, the Building Official will issue a blanket permit that covers all structural, mechanical, electrical, and, if applicable, fire suppression and fire detection work.

Plumbing plans must be submitted to the Franklin County District Board of Health (614-462-3559) for plan approval. They require the submission of two sets of drawings and isometrics for review. Once plan approval has been granted, the plumbing permit may be submitted to the Building Administration Division.

The City does not currently require any local registration; however, all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire system contractors must provide the Building Administration Division with a copy of their State of Ohio Certification.

Any fees associated with plan review and inspections will be collected at the time approved plans are picked-up at the Building Administration Division.
